The main objective of this study was to describe the background characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and practices in relation to HIV and AIDS of detainees in city jails and clients of accredited drug treatment and rehabilitation centers (DTRC) in Metro Manila.

The study recommended that PNAC and its partners develop an ethical and rights-based pilot HIV and AIDS project at correctional institutions in Metro Manila.
